Community Servings Service Day
Event Details
Come join the Community Service Committee for a shift at Community Servings!
Community Servings started in 1990 with the mission of providing home-delivered meals to individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Roxbury and Dorchester. It has since evolved into a regional program serving nutritionally tailored meals and providing nutrition education to thousands of people per year across Massachusetts — all of whom are unable to shop or cook for themselves or their families due to a critical illness.
We will be volunteering for a shift with Community Servings from 4PM to 7PM. We will be assisting the kitchen team with preparing and packaging medically tailored meals for Community Servings’ clients. We will start with an orientation, and then will suit up in aprons, hairnets, and gloves, and go help with chopping, peeling, baking, and packing these meals.
All volunteers must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination status will be checked upon arrival at Community Servings. Either a vaccine card or a picture of your vaccine card will be accepted. In order to volunteer, you must feel 100% healthy and be free of any symptoms of illness, including a cough, fever, chills, body aches, chest congestion, shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, or diarrhea.
