Event Details
Join NAAAP Boston's Community Building Committee in volunteering at the food pantry at Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House! Volunteers will be helping the food pantry stock shelves, sweep, and guide patrons through the food pantry. The food pantry at Margaret Fuller House is a full choice/"shopping" model where most of what they have on hand is out on the shelves and patrons can choose their own groceries. Cantonese/Taishanese speakers are always needed! Spots are limited as the food pantry can only handle 4-5 volunteers at a time.
Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House was built in 1807 and became a Settlement House in 1902. Their mission was to serve the workers from the Industrial Revolution and provide them with an outpost for education and culture. Their mission continues to be a place that provides education, recreation, and orientation for its surrounding community. Their food pantry program is one of the largest volume food pantries in Cambridge. They serve over 1,000 patrons within the Cambridge and the Greater Boston area.
